Paying for your qualifications
Our Training Development team will advise you on how to fund your qualifications.
Are you aged 19 years plus and want to engage in further study or training?
The 19+ Advanced Learning Loan is a government scheme that is easy to apply for, doesn’t take your household income into account and doesn’t involve a credit check. The loan facility is a great opportunity to up-skill or gain a new qualification.
Here are some of the key facts about the loan:
Repayments are linked to what you earn and not how much you borrowed.
You only have to start making repayments when you’ve finished your course and you’re earning over £21,000 a year (which is £1,750 a month). Until then you don’t need to pay back anything, however you can make voluntary repayments at any time.
Once you earn over this amount you pay back 9% of the earnings you receive above this figure. For example, if you earn£22,000 a year, your monthly repayment will be £7 a month; and if you earn £35,000 a year, it will be £105 per month. Interestis charged on a sliding scale between the Retail Price Index (RPI) and RPI +3%. The interest paid depends on how much you earn.
For more information on the loans and how to apply contact Geason Training on 0330 088 9596. As your training provider we will help you complete the documentation required to fund your qualification with a19+ Advanced Learning Loan.
Are you ready for your learning journey?
You know you want or need to get a qualification to secure your job, obtain your black CSCS or white CSCS card, or progress in your career. How do you get there? Geason Training takes you on the learning journey to success.
1: Understand what's best for you
We'll speak to you to learn about your motivations, aspirations and your current job role if you have one to understand how we can help you to achieve your perfect role.
2: Meet with your tutor
Once you have agreed and signed up for your course a Geason Training tutor will come and see you and will work with you to create your Individual Learning Plan.
3: Maths and English
It is sometimes necessary to take a test in Maths and or English before you begin your qualification. Your Geason Training tutor will advise if you need to do this and guide you through to completion.
4: Work-based learning
The main part of your qualification is work-based learning which means that approximately once a month your tutor will visit you and provide you with training and advice. Throughout this time you will build up a portfolio of work to demonstrate you are able to meet the standards set out in your qualification.
5: Verification of your work
The end of this stage of your learning journey is approaching and your work is ready to be assessed by an Internal Verifier. Your portfolio is reviewed to ensure it meets the required standard for your qualification. If you are not ready to be verified your tutor will work with you to give you any additional training you need before resubmitting your work to the Internal Verifier.
Well done! You've earned your qualification. Your certificate will be delivered to you and is proof of your qualification achieved. Your qualification is nationally recognised in the UK and highlights your skills and capabilities.
