The European Social Fund (ESF) was set up to:

  • Improve employment opportunities in the EU, in doing so, helping to raise standards of living;
  • Help people get better skills to increase their job prospects;
  • Help equip the workforce with the skills businesses require in a competitive, global market.

UK Work Permit Qualifications

In light of the EU Referendum result of 24th June, it is becoming clear that there are challenges ahead for many business sectors in the UK, amongst them being the construction sector. We are very much aware that the UK’s construction sector has relied upon the valuable skills and labour from workers across Europe, and without these shall experience considerable difficulties and even greater skills shortages than those which already exist.

It is therefore vital that we work together to find solutions that benefit the industry and protect the ability of workers from the EU to continue to work in the UK. In the absence of clear policy which is yet to be announced, we must look to the current law in relation to the right of non-EU citizens to gain a UK work permit, and assume that this may be the same criteria for EU citizens in the near future.

Unlike the qualification for a CSCS card, which is NVQ Level 2, the minimum qualification required for a UK work permit is NVQ Level 3. This can be verified at the following website.

Geason Training can deliver these qualifications to eligible candidates in the workplace.

NVQ Level 3 qualifications have been allocated a costing level by the Government and are funded through the Advanced Learning Loan system (, meaning you can spread the cost of your future into small manageable amounts. We offer a pricing structure and cash-back completion incentives dependent upon the Level 3 qualification you need and your current qualification level. We will guide you through the process from start to finish ensuring that you gain every advantage available to secure your future as a respected and valuable part of our country and workforce.
