Read about Charlie who has just completed his apprenticeship!

Congratulations to our learner, Charlie Roberts, who is our first apprentice to complete his two-year NVQ Level 2 Painting and Decorating Apprenticeship. Charlie passed with flying colours, gaining two distinctions for his final exams. Following Charlie’s success we asked him various questions regarding his apprenticeship and his learning and development process.

Why did you choose the apprenticeship route rather than another qualification?

I had tried college and felt this was not for me and chose the apprenticeship route as I enjoyed the prospect of learning a trade and earning whilst I learned.

How was the relationship built and support you received from your company and Geason Training?

I am extremely happy with the support I have received throughout my apprenticeship with Geason Training and my company. The support from Mike Driver my trainer and Lynda for support at the Geason Training training centre has been great at all times.

How has the your apprenticeship developed you?

I feel I have become more confident in my trade, I work well within my team and the more understanding of the trade I have learned, has increased my confidence.

What do you want to achieve at the end of your qualification?

I want to pass my qualification and enjoy the trade I am working in.

How will you progress after your apprenticeship?

I have discussed my options with Lynda at Geason Training training centre and we discussed me doing a Multi Trade qualification and the level 3 possibilities that there may be available to me. My company have discussed with Mike my trainer, what progression maybe available to me.

Would you recommend the apprenticeship to others in the industry?

Definitely, I have thoroughly enjoyed doing my apprenticeship with Geason Training and would recommend it to all my friends.
