External Wall Insulation (EWI) is a system, which not only insulates, but also protects the exterior of your home, External Wall Insulation involves fixing a layer of insulation material to the wall, then covering with a special type of render or cladding.

Who is this suitable for?

This course is designed for workers within the external wall insulation trade to gain a recognised qualification.
To enroll on this course all candidates must be 19 years or older with at least 12 months experience within the trade.

Course Contents

  • Conforming to General Health, Safety & Welfare
  • Safe working practices
  • Moving, handling and storing resources
  • Installing external wall insulation
  • Erect and dismantling access/working platforms

Assessment

The Assessment methods include:

  • Practical Assessment in the work setting
  • Opportunities to access group training
  • Individualised study

This qualification allows the operative to gain their NVQ Level 2 City & Guilds certificate which will enable them to apply & obtain their blue skilled workers card (CSCS card) – either online or by post.

Dedicated support

Once the learners are enrolled on the programme, they will be assigned a Skills Trainer. Our NVQ qualifications are delivered using various proven methods:
