Thermal Insulation is the reduction of heat transfer between objects in thermal contact or in range of radiative influence. Thermal Insulation can be achieved with specially engineered methods or processes, as well as with suitable object shapes and materials. Heat flow is an inevitable consequence of contact between objects of different temperature.

Who is this suitable for?

This course is designed for workers within the Thermal Insulation trade to gain a recognised qualification.
To enroll on this course all candidates must be 19 years or older with at least 12 months experience within the trade.

Course Contents

  • Conforming to General Health, Safety & Welfare
  • Safe working practices
  • Moving, handling and storing resources
  • Applying insulation and finishes to cylindrical and flat surfaces
  • Fitting sheet metal insulation protection

Assessment

The Assessment methods include:

  • Practical Assessment in the work setting
  • Opportunities to access group training
  • Individualised study

This qualification allows the operative to gain their NVQ Level 2 City & Guilds certificate which will enable them to apply & obtain their blue skilled workers card (CSCS card) – either online or by post.

Dedicated support
