Waterproof Membranes | Specialist Roofing

Specialist roofers work on technical roofing structures that require special treatments to keep them waterproof. Applying a waterproof liquid membrane is a typical specialism along with waterproofing by means of built up felt roofing. Apprentices will need the ability to understand building plans, have good maths skills to work out areas, quantities and prices, manual dexterity and great attention to Health & Safety. The day-to-day tasks may include removing or repairing complex roof coverings, fitting felt rolls to roofs, measuring and cutting materials, applying waterproof membranes and cutting and fitting lead 'flashings' around ducts, pipes and walls.

Who is this suitable for?

This course is designed for both new apprentices moving into a specialist roofing role on commercial or industrial buildings, or for existing employees wishing to up-skill and gain recognition for their skills and knowledge.

  • Cskills Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Waterproof Membrane Roofing Systems.
  • C&G Level 2 Diploma in Built-up-Felt Roofing.
  • Employers rights and responsibilities
  • Personal learning and thinking skills
  • English and Maths (where required)

  • Install pre-formed weathering fittings
  • Install felt roof coverings
